Dessert Maker FAQs

 

Thank you for making the Chocolate Festival possible with your incredible desserts! Here’s everything you need to know to enter a dessert this year:

  • Visit thechocolatefest.com for details on entry, the event schedule, and inspiration from past entries.

  • Fill out the Dessert Registration Form on our website. Pre-registration helps us plan, but walk-ins are welcome too!

  • Get creative! Desserts may include nuts or alcohol, but please label these ingredients. Vegan desserts are also marked for public awareness. No raw eggs or items requiring refrigeration.

  • Life happens! You can edit your pre-registration up until drop-off. For emergencies, email us at chocolatefestival@gmail.com.

    • Showpiece dessert: Displayed with your chosen plate or container, which will be auctioned off and not returned.

    • Samples: Bite-sized pieces in labeled containers. You can reclaim your containers at the end of the night.

  • We recommend starting with 100 bite-sized samples. The more samples you bring, the better your chance to win the ‘People’s Choice’ award!

  • Desserts are judged for fun, with small prizes for winners. Judges use a rubric for Open categories. The public votes for the ‘People’s Choice’ award, which heads to live auction!

  • It’s now the Premier Showcase for local businesses and renowned bakers. Space is limited, but if you’re not selected, join the Open Contest—we’d love to have you!

  • We offer a limited scholarship of up to $50 for ingredients. Email us at chocolatefestival@gmail.com to apply while funds last.

  • Your entry comes with one free tasting ticket. Additional tickets can be purchased on our website. Check your registration email for a discount promo code.
